The Yukon Sourdough Rendezvous wrapped up this weekend. It's a fantastic winter festival full of contests, events and people dressing up in gold-rush-inspired costumes.
The weather over the weekend was too warm for the snow sculptors' liking, but Axel and I thought it was fantastic for walking around Shipyards Park and enjoying the sights. Axel said his first word, "dog", last week and he got lots of practice pointing out all the dogs in the park.
We've settled in for winter here in Whitehorse, under a beautiful blanket of fresh snow.
People are already preparing for Christmas, so I figured I should get around to sharing some Halloween photos.
Chris, Axel and I all got sick with a bad stomach flu shortly after Axel's party, so we ended up scrapping our plans for epic costumes this year. Fortunately, there's no shortage of costumes around here, so we were still able to dress up (in multiple outfits!)
On the big night, we all dressed in matching flight suits and aviator sunglasses, for a whole family of Top Guns.
As I mentioned in my last post, one of my goals for 2017 is to get back into the habit of documenting my life.
I've been using 1 Second Everyday to capture snippets of everyday life at our house.
The video quality isn't great. The camera on my phone is terrible and the lighting situation in our home is far from perfect. But it still makes me incredibly happy to see the compiled video for January.
I realized after a week or so that all I ever filmed was Axel. He's so cute, I don't mind if the finished product becomes 356 seconds of Axel.
